Writing in optimistic style with Montegrappa

In a world of digital communication, for some, nothing beats a handwritten note.

Did you know the Smiley symbol was first created by journalist Franklin Loufrani? In 1972, he was working at the France-Soir newspaper and had the idea of using a yellow smiley face to symbolise the days good news stories.

It worked and now, 50 years later, Smiley is an icon of global positivity.

Well now the power of our written word can be even more Smiley, with the Montegrappa Heritage pen collection in ballpoint, fountain pen and rollerball.

The iconic luxury goods company featured a Smiley 50th Anniversary edition earlier in 2021, and is now back with a limited edition Smiley Heritage Collection. Happiness has a warm, golden glow on the Smiley Heritage Collection, they say. Bold colours and crisp golden lines join forces with the global symbol of happiness to heighten the joy of writing.

The classy black and gold design will stand out from your average plastic rollerball and you can even add personalisation text up to 16 characters. Our favourite part? The featured Smiley on the nib on the fountain pen.

Montegrappa began manufacturing pens in 1912 in its factory in Italy. It combines traditional methods with more recent innovations like low-relief engraving. An art object to be proud of.
