Yesterday London urban lux fashion brand DbBerdan partnered with The Smiley Company to close #londonfashionweek with an incredible streetwear presentation for SS20. The collection' Self Love Club' is turning the tables on male dominated sports and celebrating them as gender-inclusive with a collection of silhouettes inspired by 80's and 90's hip hop party culture.
DBBERDAN's past collections have focussed on genderless clothing and the eradication of heteronormativity, aiming to unite a community of like-minded individuals, that are not defined by sex, race or gender. This season is no different.
Amidst the Bold colours and oversized tie-dye denim hoodies there are also joggers that turn into shorts, cotton 80’s bat sleeved button-up shirts and basketball shorts that turn into skirts. This inclusive collection is for perfect for everyone, and anyone to wear.
Featuring the the slogan “Racing for equality”. The notion of ‘self-love’ challenges everyone to love themselves and to embrace each other’s differences in these “invisible battles”. The SS20 collection tributes to the super incredible LGBTQ+ people in the sports industry such as Greg Louganis, Stella Walsh and many others.
Combined with a special performance from singer Girli, DJ Krystal Lake on the decks and talent Ashnikko and Jamie Windust, lots of the LGBTQ+ scene flocked to view the collection.
The one of a kind collaboration is a great homage and celebration of Pride and equality and will be released for SS20.
